1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of MemofyAI ("the App"). By downloading or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
2. Description of Service
The App is a mobile application that converts text input into structured Markdown format. Two AI processing modes are available, selectable by the user.
- On-device mode: Downloads an AI model to the device and performs all AI processing locally. After download, the App can be used offline.
- Fast mode: Sends your input text through our backend server (Supabase) to a cloud AI service provider's servers and returns the processed result. An internet connection is required.
- OCR (text recognition from images) functionality is provided (OCR processing is performed on-device)
- Modes can be switched at any time from the App's settings
3. AI Model and Cloud AI Service Usage
The on-device AI model and the cloud AI service used by the App are provided by third parties and are subject to their respective licenses and terms of service.
- The on-device AI model is a third-party model distributed via HuggingFace
- In Fast mode, your input text is sent through our backend server (Supabase) to a cloud AI service provider's servers
- We and our backend server do not retain submitted content
- Handling of submitted content by the cloud AI service provider is governed by that provider's privacy policy and terms of service
- Only your input text is transmitted; no account information or device identifiers are sent
Important: AI-generated content is provided for reference purposes only. We do not guarantee its accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any particular purpose. If using the output for important decisions, please verify the content yourself.
4. Terms of Use
- The App is primarily intended for personal use
- Users shall use the App at their own responsibility
- A compatible device and OS version is required (iOS 16.0+ / Android API 24+)
- Sufficient storage space (2.6GB - 3.7GB) is required for AI model download
5. Prohibited Activities
Users shall not engage in the following activities:
- Decompiling, reverse engineering, or modifying the App
- Using the App for illegal purposes
- Abusing App features to infringe upon the rights of third parties
- Circumventing or disabling the App's security features
- Redistributing the App for commercial purposes
6. Disclaimers
- AI Output: We make no warranties regarding the accuracy, appropriateness, or completeness of the Markdown output generated by the App. Use of AI-generated results is at the user's own risk.
- Data: The developer is not responsible for loss of data stored in the App. We recommend regularly backing up important data.
- Device Impact: AI model execution uses device memory and storage. The developer is not responsible for any impact on other applications.
- Third-Party Services: The developer does not guarantee the availability or quality of the AI model download source (HuggingFace), our backend server (Supabase), or the cloud AI service provider.
7. Intellectual Property
Intellectual property rights related to the App belong to the developer or their licensors. Rights to content created by users through the App belong to the users.
8. Service Changes and Termination
The developer may change the content of the App or terminate the App without prior notice to users. The developer is not responsible for any damages arising from such changes or termination.
9. Changes to These Terms
The developer may modify these Terms as needed. Modified Terms shall take effect upon publication within the App or on the website. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan. Any disputes arising from the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court as the court of first instance.
